A small body of determined spirits fired by an unquenchable faith in their mission can alter the course of history. ~Gandhi ~
Here at Yetzer Ha-Tov we view the work we do as the highest purpose life can hold - doing everything in our power to fulfill what we believe to be a command to love our neighbors as we do ourselves. We acknowledge that this ministry must be built upon a strong foundation, therefore we hold ourselves accountable to God; to each other; our donors; our clients and to the communities we serve for doing whatever we can to ensure a prosperous future for our children’s grandchildren and beyond. Because the purpose of Yetzer Ha-Tov is community transformation. Each step towards the goal of such, regardless of its time span will be developed to ensure it provides the most long-lasting impact possible. Yetzer Ha-Tov’s efforts will focus on building sustainability within the community and, as Yetzer Ha-Tov presents realistic approaches for creating the future of our communities, we will always be mindful to ensure those methods can easily be understood and adopted by average community members sitting on average boards. Yetzer Ha-Tov understands that none of us can create a significant impact on our own and that our potential is at its peak when we work together. We know that people become engaged when they believe change is possible, and when they believe their individual actions can indeed bring about that change. Yetzer Ha-Tov recognizes that within our communities and our organizations there lies an abundance of gifts, talents and strengths upon which the future we envision can be fostered. Therefore Yetzer Ha-Tov will encourage all employees, volunteers, patrons and clients to work side by side, to share in each other’s wisdom and effect greater change. It is our hopes that here at Yetzer Ha-Tov our approaches and actions will encourage friendships with those who care about the same things we care about. We will seek to move toward our vision in a way that is as cooperative and open as possible as we will encourage our clients and the leaders in their communities to do the same. We further encourage reaching beyond the norm to ensure the whole community shares ownership of and responsibility for the future we are creating. And finally, because Yetzer Ha-Tov is still young and the efforts to enhance the organization’s potential are even younger, we will always encourage ongoing learning and ideas for ourselves, for our clients and for the communities. Do more than belong: participate. Do more than care: help. Do more than believe: practice. Do more than be fair: be kind. Do more than forgive: forget. Do more than dream: work. |
